SINGAPORE NATIONAL DAY 2022
AN AFTERNOON DELIGHT

The Singaporean community here in Melbourne celebrated Singapore National Day 2022 on Saturday 13 August with a sumptuous high tea event at the lovely country setting of North Warrandyte Family Centre Function Hall.
The afternoon was spent savouring Singapore’s culture, food and songs. There was a delightful Singapore style high tea featuring delicious savoury bites and sweet delicacies. Food and beverages specially catered by Kaya Catering included favourites like chicken satay with ketupat & peanut sauce, curry puffs, mee goreng, fried bee hoon, fried chicken wings, variety of kueh kueh, cakes, bandung drink, coffee and even freshly made teh tarik on the spot. There were lovely cultural dance and silat performances, and lots of audience participation activities. Tim Chou sang one of our favourite Singapore songs, ‘Home’ while Simon Wong gave a rendition of Singapore Chinese song ‘Voices from the Heart’ and also ‘Bengawan Solo’. The event ended with everyone joining in the National Day song for 2022 ‘Stronger Together’. It was certainly a great way to celebrate Singapore’s 57th national day!
