CRAZY RICH NOSTALGIA NITE
Saturday 9 February, 6 pm
In Chinese culture, pigs are symbols of wealth, good fortune and love of life. So 2019 Year of the Pig should be celebrated with the good things in life – good food, good entertainment, good relationships and good fun. Indeed it was such a celebration for members with a sumptuous banquet with lucky yusheng, seafood including lobster, fish & prawns and free flow of wine.
We were taken down memory lane with a night of nostalgia. Inspired by the soundtrack of recent Hollywood movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ set in Singapore, our evening’s entertainment was a blend of classic Western and Chinese music. From modern covers of classic Chinese songs, remix of popular English hits of 60s & 70s, to the ballads of the king of rock and roll. The music brought back sweet nostalgic memories and had guests jiving on the dance floor in no time. Shows that you don’t need to be crazy rich to celebrate in style!
