It was a lovely winter evening when members gathered at Limkopi restaurant in Melbourne CBD for the hawker night dinner. We had overwhelming response to this event and was unfortunately not able to accommodate all who wanted to attend. The restaurant being rather small could only allow us to have 30 members at the dinner.
The spread of hawker fare was tasty, sumptuous and plentiful. Thanks to Mr Lim of Limkopi for his generosity, and great service from his friendly staff. Limkopi restaurant located at 542 Little Bourke Street is definitely a place to go to for yummy & authentic hawker cuisine. We also had nyonya kueh (ang ku kueh, serimuka and kueh dadar) for dessert. This was specially catered from Hometown Kueh. The kuehs were delicious with great flavour, texture and balance. The evening also included a short sharing by our member, freelance writer and author Balvinder Sandhu. Balvinder talked about her recently published book, ‘A Nation’s Disgrace: Singapore’s Shocking Scandals’.
It was indeed a cosy warm gathering, nice dinner and enjoyable time of food and friendship.
