Chinese New Year Dinner Dance (February 2015)

Chinese New Year Dinner Dance February 2015

To kick off celebrations for SG50 and in true Chinese New Year fashion, the club organized our largest ever Chinese New Year event attended by almost 300 people. It was a loud, boisterous and fun night filled with what Chinese New Year is all about – lion dance (we had 6 lions perform!), mandarin oranges, ang pows, lucky ‘lo hei’ yusheng, 8-course Chinese banquet, lucky draw and even Nonya kueh and new year goodies. The highlight of the night was the Chinese cultural dance where the dancers wowed the crowd with their graceful dance skills and acrobatic prowess. Our own ‘Merlion Mandarins’ band (comprising Merlion Club members) entertained and provided dance music for members to bogey away.

This year being SG50, we have even more exciting events lined up including family activities and a SG50 Gala celebration event. Stay Tuned!
